Sam Bouji
Chairman & CEO
Global Educational Marketing Corporation

Sam Bouji saw a niche in the Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) industry and made it his by creating the Global Educational Trust Foundation on November 23, 1996. Two years later, through the Global Educational Marketing Corporation, he began marketing a new Education Savings Plan product, the Global Educational Trust Plan.

Now in its seventh year of business distributing the Global Plan, the Global Educational Marketing Corporation is well established across Canada and growing rapidly.

Sam Bouji began selling Group Scholarship Plans in 1989 and within a year became the top salesperson of a Scholarship Trust Plan distributor. During his six years with this distributor he became a Manager, Agency Director, and builder of Canada's largest scholarship plan agency. This evolved into a sub-distributorship accounting for about 25% of the distributor's sales.

It was during those years that Sam noticed there was room for an individual Education Savings Plan that could be more responsive to the needs of Canadians. Most Canadians want post secondary education for their children so that they can be a success in life.

The Global Plan's rapid success grew from the universal need for post-secondary education and the Plan's distinct features. These include maximum flexibility with client-friendly features (for example, it can be used at any age to save for education and temporary payment lapses don't collapse the plan).

Sam Bouji has expanded his organization to include other areas in the financial services industry. Global divisions include Global Insurance Solutions Inc., which has Managing General Agency (MGA) agreements with most major insurers, Global Maxfin Investments Incorporated, a dual-licensed MFDA-registered mutual fund and Global Education Savings Plan dealership, and Global Maxfin Capital Incorporated, a full-service securities dealership. These companies are licensed to do business across Canada. Currently, Global has 87 full-time employees and approximately 1,000 sales people across Canada.

The Global Educational Trust Foundation has seen its funds under management grow from 1998's $21,821 in net assets to over $98 million as of June 30, 2005 when the Plan had registered approximately 45,000 nominees.

On Sunday, September 29, 2002, Mr. Sam Bouji was awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. This is a medal presented to a select number of Canadians for their significant contribution to the nation. The medal commemorates Her Majesty the Queen's 50th year as Queen of Canada and is given by the Governor General on behalf of the Government of Canada.

Although the award was given to Mr. Bouji, it was given in recognition of his efforts through Global to provide education to Canadians and because of this, all the employees at Global share Sam's pride in this honour.
